Well, it missed the house at least.

We lost some big branches but everything else seemed to stay intact. I’ll assess fully tomorrow morning.

The base of the fallen portion of this tree is probably 10-12" in diameter. Seems to be the only damage, though I didn’t check out the backyard.

Had it down here in Indianapolis, too. Luckily, my lights only flickered a few times. Others not so lucky.

We’ve got some branches down, but no actual damage. The north side of Villa Park got pretty hammered.

Missed the house is good.

Yes, but did you continue folding?

It was 95 before the storm so no folding today.

Sandy Claws came today.

What’d you get?

Considering that the tree trunk is only 5 feet from the house, and a good 30' of height came down, that's quite fortunate, really.

This tree seems to be the only damage we had. Glad you made out okay- that was pretty scary for a bit!

A lot of outages here, too. Gust was recorded at 72 mph a bit east of here, butt I guess Iowa got it worse.

Yeah it was. We were riding it out in the basement, for sure.

Did that box from me already show up?

Davenport, IA here. Luckily our house and property sustained no damage, but we spent all afternoon an d evening helping our neighbors across the court clean up their backyards; they lost a lot of limbs and trees even.
Everywhere in and around the Quad-City area looks like a war zone with all the downed limbs, trees, power lines, building damage, etc. It’s crazy.
Rural areas outside of town recorded wind speeds up to 100 mph; I’ve never experienced anything over 70 so it was unreal.
Also, we’ve been without power since a little after noon, and it’s a total guess when it’ll come back. The odd thing is, all the power lines in our neighborhood are underground, and as far as I know, this is the first time our neighborhood has lost power. Pretty crazy. This is when I wish I had a backup generator, but I’ve never needed one until now.
Fingers crossed we get power back some time overnight.

That's it in the picture.

Luckily it went just south of us . The storm we had yesterday was more intense here than the storm today.

That's good! Other parts oy town still don't have power.

Hopefully not too much damage. I went through dealing with the aftermath of a tornado at my parents house 10ish years ago and not having power for three days just made it that much worse to deal with.

Some parts of town are pretty messed up. My friend who lives a few miles due west of me posted pics of his neighborhood. Big patches of shingles all over the place, lots of trees down, debris all over the place. It’s nothing like a direct tornado hit, no buildings got kno cked down, but it's ugly in some spots.

Basement was the place to be from 330-430 yesterday.
